Ste. Anne grew up along the Seine River and the old Dawson Trail, one of the earliest overland routes linking Manitoba with Northwestern Ontario, and it remains a bilingual community with a strong francophone presence, including local French-language schools and services.
It's a small, close-knit town: fewer big-box stores and services than Steinbach or Winnipeg, but a genuine community feel, with a short drive covering most of what a larger centre would take much longer to reach.
For renters, Ste. Anne offers a quieter, more rural pace of life without cutting off access to a bigger city. Steinbach is a short drive away for shopping and services, and Winnipeg is reachable via the Trans-Canada Highway for work or a day out.
Ste. Anne is about 40 km southeast of Winnipeg via the Trans-Canada Highway and Highway 12, and about 18 km, roughly a 15 minute drive, from Steinbach.
